The Raspberry Pi has already been used to create everything from a standalone Android device rooting machine to a beer fermentation controller and now it's ready to spark a whole new round of throwable camera. RS components recently showed off the Raspberry Pi camera board,much to the delight of eventgoers at Electronica 2012 at Germany.The prototype on display was secured handyman-style using scotch tape and to a Raspberry Pi. Video quality from the 5MP camera is quite good, and it's capable of capturing full 1080p resolution at a crisp 3 frames per second.
The foundation is aiming for $25 price point, and the camera should go on sale early in the new year.
