Archos Launches high resolution tablets

 Archos has introduced its new platinum tablets, part of the elements series. Three versions will be available, the Archos 80 Platinum, Archos 97 Platinum HD and Archos 116 Platinum.
           Each of the tablets has a sleek aluminum chassis with an IPS screen, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and an 8-core power-VR SGX 544 graphics chip. The devices contain 2GB of memory and 8GB of storage capacity. The Android 4.1 jelly bean operating system is featured on the tablets, which have cameras on both the sides. Connectivity includes a mini-HDMI port, micro-USB 2.0 port and a micro-SD card reader, compatible with flash cards of up to 64GB. The three tablet seem to only in size, resolution and weight.
          The Archos 80 Platinum has an 8-inch screen with a 1024x768 pixel resolution. This tablet is sized 200x153x9.8mm and weighs 480 grams. The Archos 97 Platinum HD has a 9.7-inch screen, complete with a 2048x1536 resolution. This model has dimensions of 242x187x9.8mm, while its weight is 670 grams. Archos 116 platinum is built around an 11.6-inch screen with a 1920x1080 pixel resolution.
          The Archos 80 and 97 will be available in February at respective costs of €199 (£172) and €249 (£215). The Archos 116 will follow in April at a price tag of €349 (£300).
