Mini-ITX E-350N Windows 8 Motherboard by Gigabyte
Gigabyte has listed the new GA-E350N Win8 mini-ITX motherboard on its website. The board features AMD's E-350 processor, with the matching A45 chipset. The dual-core E-350 is a perfect foundation for users looking for an affordable and simple all-round PC for using the internet, text editing and media playback. The board can be applied in various types of systems, from small home servers to HTPCs.
The suffix Win8 shows that the board is compatible with Microsoft's latest operating system, courtesy of Gigabyte's AMI UEFI BIOS. Through UEFI,Windows 8 has access to fast boot, which significantly reduce the time it takes for the system to boot.
The GA-E350 Win8 features a heatsink with fan for the processor, as well as a small passively cooled heatsink for the chipset. The E-350 is a dual-core chip, clocked at 1.6Ghz. It has an integrated HD 6310D GPU with 80 shader units. Up to 16GB of memory can be added to the board, divided across two slots. Gigabyte has added four SATA 3 GBit/s ports, 8x USB 2.0, D-Sub and HDMI connectors. Only a single PCI-Slot is found on Gigabyte's latest creation.
The GA-E350N is likely to be priced around £78.
